Helen M. Stummer, a Social Documentary Photographer and Visual Sociologist is the featured artist in the International Center of Photography Gallery at Mana Contemporary Art Center, 888 Newark Avenue, Jersey City. “Risking Life and Lens” the exhibit runs from February 23 –June 29, 2018.

Last Saturdays Program opening May 19th. Helen will be there for a Q and A event and book signing of her recent publication Risking Life and Lens: A Photographic Memoir (Temple University Press).

The exhibit includes over 60 of her black & white silver gelatin prints, from 1977-2007, many of which have never been shown before.

Stummer’s works are in the collection of the Library of Congress, the International Center for Photography in New York, The Museum of the City of New York, The Brooklyn Museum, The Rutgers University Libraries Special Collections in New Brunswick and many others.
