Kayt Hester creates intricate images with shreds of hand torn black masking tape.
She attended The Fashion Institute of Technology and then became a still-life photographer for publications such as Scholastic Magazine and J. Crew. She left her photography career and began using leftover darkroom tape as a creative outlet to weave her interpretation of people and events on canvas.
Kayt’s masking tape art was discovered by a Jersey City gallery owner when she brought her portfolio to a meeting.
