As you may have heard, the construction of a 95 story luxury residential building is in the works for this spring. It’s all part of the World [-Class] domination program. Sadly, there still aren’t plans to upgrade our Shop-Rite to World-Class status, but I can wait. I can’t wait for this weekend which is fast upon us, and rumors of a pending snow ball to join. Read on if you can, here’s your 2-4 inches of accumulation.
If you aren’t busy glue gunning ice crystals onto your tuxedo cap for tomorrow night’s Snow Ball at Art House Productions. [AHP’s annual fundraiser it’s SOLD OUT so may need to call in that favor from one of Hudson County’s 25 most powerful people to get in.] Head to the West Side, and catch Chrissy Roberts, Twidlin Thumbs and Sea of Otters at Mojo Lounge. If you stay downtown, wonder twins DJ Vidal Sassoon and J-Tower spin at PortA, RightonShawn is at PortO.
On Saturday Night, Nebraska’s favorite sons, and JC treasures Desir Decir, plays Luckys with The Dead Trains, and Jaguar Shark [performing as Operation Weezer] are at Lucky7’s. After the bandz, Motor Funker spins. Back on the West Side you can catch the Sensation Country Blues wonders at Mojo Lounge. Heading due North, the “new” Maxwell’s welcomes back some old faces for The Fave, Davey and the Train Wreck, and singer/songwriter Rob Nicholas. Local Roots reggae band Kiwi plays their monthly showcase at Porto Lounge at 11 pm. You can catch them 12 hours prior on the radio and on-line debuting two new songs on KCRW.
On Sunday, hit NYC for Plaid Sundays! Lesbian TV drinking game + The Lady Company / Plastiq Passion / The Bleed at the Sidewalk Cafe. Apparently, Orange is the New Black will be synced with alcohol. At Night, head back to JC for Jason O’Brien and YAY FOR FUN with DJ Robotninjas. It’s also Industry Nights, so you will be served well.
that’s it I’m out, and out of material – you can get the rest and more from Summer Dawn at nj.com
