This weekend also rounds out the end of freeformed radio WFMU’s fundraising marathon. Besides broadcasting all the music your never hear on commercial radio, WFMU joined the JC venue ranks with the recent opening of Monty Hall [programming note Jon Spenser Blues Explosion plays March 25th] . for the last two weeks they have been throwing their cautionary playlists to the wall and offering great prizes for those who pledge their support and wallets to keep Taylor Swift at the Garden. This Saturday, Prove it All Night Host Pat Byrne hosts his big fundraising push, with Joe Jack Talcum, Singer and songwriter of The Dead Milkmen, will be writing CUSTOM songs for pledges of $100 or more! Tune in 9 pm to midnight. Things will wrap up on Sunday Night with WFMU’s Hoof and Mouth Synfonia at the marathon finish line, when WFMU DJ’s jumping more sharks the Fonz, perform their favorite jams, and many times giving airplay to music that is usually stored in a garbage can at the radio station. Sinead O’Connor anyone?
