If you haven’t heard, or haven’t heard them. The pioneers of The Lamppost’s Tuesday Night Bluegrass Jam have returned to the Village Neighborhood for a new weekly Wednesday gig at Union Republic. Utilizing a more structured format, the Union Republic of Bluegrass starts to fiddle at 8pm with, before breaking into a jamboree after dinner service. The recently opened bar of Union Republic offers small plates at 8pm with all beers at $5, wines at $8 and cocktails at $10. Come down from Appalachia or the Heights for this new weekly showcase. With warmer Wednesdays back, all should look forward the return on Groove on Grove on May 6th. Our debut show for our 8th season features a dance performance by Nimbus Dance Works, followed by the folkloric sounds of Segunda Quimbamba with the Soulful One and Nines finishing off the night. Besides great performances, Groove on Grove showcases, many local restaurants and artists, topping things off,or at least your glass off, the first show of each month has liquor service . On May 13th, join us for as local upstart record label Mulberry Sound Recording showcase with CachaBacha, Rest Ashore, Kadian Quartet, and Professor Caveman. On May 20th, our One Mike Only showcase features Dan O’Dea and Eagle Ridge, Donna Missal, and a Drum and a Tantrum.
